Projects Description:
1) LET'S LIVE EUROPE IN RURAL AREAS IN FRANCE
This project will involve 6 volunteers from 6 European Union countries. Each one of them will volunteer in one of the 6 local training centres for teenagers from the surroundings of Le Mans, in the department of Sarthe in France.
The volunteer will work in one of the 6 MFRs. Each MFR hosts young pupils, have difficulties with the French traditional school system and who are looking for a new way of learning. The MFRs are all located in Sarthe and each MFR is located in a different village.

2) TECHNICAL COLLEGE IS LOOKING FOR IT'S NEXT EUROPEAN AMBASSADOR
The volunteer will be hosted daily in the Lycée Joseph Roussel, but the project will be coordinated by the Maison de l’Europe, allowing the volunteer to participate more broadly in action to promote European citizenship together with 8 other volunteering projects in Sarthe:
- 6 volunteers are hosted in local boarding schools,
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a high school, - and 1 volunteer is hosted in the city of Rouillon.
These 9 volunteers will have the possibility to carry out common projects, especially during the Europe Day in May. We also would like to raise awareness of European citizenship and openness by recruiting a European Solidarity Corps volunteer. This means more diversity, more exchanges of opinions, getting to know each other and accepting cultural differences.
It will arouse students’ curiosity and might encourage them to step out of their comfort zone and get new experience, abroad. At the Lycée Joseph Roussel, we manage many projects: all the sections of the school develop recreational activities, invite speakers for conferences, visit companies, collaborate with associations and local communities, take part in some events and work with diverse partners. 3) THE HOUSE OF EUROPE IS LOOKING FOR A EUROPEAN AMBASSADOR
The volunteer will be hosted daily in the House of Europe which is also coordinating 8 other volunteering projects in Sarthe:
- 6 volunteers are hosted in local boarding schools,
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a high school,
- and 1 volunteer is hosted in the city of Rouillon.
These 9 volunteers will have the possibility to carry out common projects, especially during the Europe Day in May. The volunteer will be fully integrated into the team of the House of Europe and will be considered as a full member of the association. He/she will participate in all the annual highlights of the association. The activities that will implement the volunteer are really perceived as an added value to traditional activities of the structure as they are carried by a young person from another European country. Depending on his/her skills and their willing to learn, the volunteer will be trained by members of our team in workshop-leading, games, presentations on Europe.
4) LEAD INTERCULTURAL ACTIVITIES
The volunteer will be hosted daily in the town of Sablé-sur-Sarthe, and more particularly in the Associative and Citizen Life service during the year 2021-2022. This project will be coordinated by the Maison de l’Europe, allowing the volunteer to participate more broadly in actions to promote European citizenship together with other volunteers in which:
- 6 volunteers are hosted in local boarding schools,
- 2 volunteers are hosted in a town hall of Le Mans
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a town hall of Rouillon
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a high school,
- and 1 volunteer is hosted in the association Maison de l’Europe.
These 11 volunteers will be able to carry out common projects, especially during the Europe Day in May. The volunteer will be in contact with the inhabitants, young people and schoolchildren of the city. The volunteer will be asked to develop skills related to animation and teaching. Many activities can be lead during the school time and the school holidays. For several years, the municipality has been hosting volunteers. Other organisation in Sablé-sur-Sarthe are also hosted foreign volunteers and activites can be lead together.
5) BE PART, TAKE PART TO THE ACTIVITES
The volunteer will be hosted daily in the town of Le Mans. This project will be coordinated by the Maison de l’Europe, allowing the volunteer to participate more broadly in actions to promote European citizenship together with other volunteers in which:
- 6 volunteers are hosted in local boarding schools,
- 2 volunteers are hosted in a town hall of Le Mans
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a town hall of Rouillon
- 1 volunteer is hosted in a high school,
- and 1 volunteer is hosted in the association Maison de l’Europe.
These 11 volunteers will be able to carry out common projects, especially during the Europe Day in May. The volunteer will be in contact with the inhabitants, young people and schoolchildren of the city. The volunteer will be asked to develop skills related to animation and teaching or information and communication regarding the project you prefer.
